My husband and I spent an amazing long weekend last year exploring Jervis Bay and the St George’s Basin area on the New South Wales South Coast of Australia. It’s about a two and a half hour drive from Sydney and easily achievable for a long weekend.

We stumbled across this vacant block of land one afternoon while out looking for kangaroos that we had been told, come out to graze just before sundown in the area. Parking the car we wandered down to the water’s edge where there was two old logs perfectly carved out into seats with the most spectacular view of the Basin. We sat there for about an hour watching the sunset with our only company, the pelican and his friend on the end of the wharf in front of us. It was perfectly peaceful and one of the highlights of our weekend.

    • Cheers Jen for sending over such an amazing shot! To echo others comments, this is a beautiful shot especially with the pelican just relaxing in the sunset!
