Lower Antelope Canyon

Location:  Heart Shaped Canyon located in the Lower Antelope Canyon of Page, Arizona

Author: Will Tang @ Going Awesome Places

This photo was taken in the Lower Antelope Canyon of Page, Arizona which was truly a photographer’s dream.  The slot canyons practically shoot themselves with the fiery sandstone that wave and snake their way around every bend.

The important thing when shooting slot canyons is to look up and when I did, I stumbled upon this heart shaped formation.

  1. Always wondered where this was! I’ve seen so many shots of it around the Internet and in ads, but only knew it was somewhere in Arizona or Utah. Guess there’s a good reason to visit over there now 🙂 Wonderful capture, Will—and thanks for sharing, Chris!

    • Cheers Ryan, honored to be able to publish such an amazing shot! I too have seen this and similar images around but never knew the exact location so it’s nice to be able to pinpoint exactly where this is so we can hopefully explore this for ourselves sometime.

  2. Wow! This is one place I would love to see for myself. Actually, I never heard of Lower Antelope Canyon before today, but I looked it up on the map, it is only 4.5 hours from where my dad lives.

    • Sounds like a perfect opportunity to pay a visit to your dad and then head on over to Lower Antelope Canyon to explore this for yourselves! What an amazing part of the States it is and I can’t wait to get there and shoot some images similar to this.

    • Cheers Sammi and yes, we sure are taking submissions! Shoot me an e-mail to [email protected] with the image (at least 1024px wide landscape orientation) along with a brief description and your social media networks (kind of like the layout above) 🙂

  3. Stunning photo Will. Antelop Canyon is high up on list of places to visit when I eventually do a big US road trip. I hope I can capture a similar shot when I’m there.
